Constructing Global Citizenry
There was no other solution to the problem of racial discrimination than realizing a human revolution in each individual. In other words, an inner reformation in the depths of people's lives to transform the egoism that justifies the subjugation of others [and themselves] and replace it with a humanism that strives for coexistence along all people
-Daisaku Ikeda
Sexism is unique. It is unlike other forms of domination- racism or classism- where the exploited and oppressed do not live in large numbers intimately with their oppressors or develop their primary love relationships (familial and/or romantic) with individuals who oppress and dominate or share in the privileges attained by domination.

Ordinary papers are filled with dark and dismal news. To some extent this can't be helped because it's a reflection of society. Nevertheless, none of these newspapers applies any thought or editorial efforts to enabling people to find hope and experience joy while living in such a society. None of them teaches its readers how to truly challenge and overcome life's sufferings. But it is just this kind of newspaper that society needs. - Daisaku Ikeda
